Split Apple and Cup, 8 x 8 in., Oil on Canvas, Original Artwork, Unframed
Original Painting: https://timellmers.com/2017/07/27/day-5-split-apple-and-cup/ ABOUT: ‘Split Apple and Cup in Oil’ represents a big part of my area of North Carolina. Hendersonville is home to the nation’s largest apple producers on the east coast. Completed from life in my studio from local apple stands. This painting is just vivid of color secondary to the underpainting. This painting would work for any area you want to brighten up. Painted impressionistically and loose to give this painting life and causes the eye to distract on it. DIMENSIONS: 8 in. x 8 in. (standard size for easy/affordable framing) MATERIALS: Painted in professional oil paints on a cotton canvas, stretched on a wooden stretcher frame, canvas has been gessoed with three coats to maintain cotton integrity, paint was mixed with my own personal concentration of oil mediums to give paint strength and adds to protection for years to come (give a nice soft varnish look when dry). Painting comes unframed, but size is standard so will be affordable. (C) Burge Mountain Artworks, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
Going a little bigger on this one, 8 in x 8 in. stretched canvas. If you are going to paint an apple you might as well eat it afterwards, right? Expanding beyond just the primary colors on this one. This one caused me to scrap off a lot of oil and restart sections. Maybe an apple a day will help me. I know now that I need to work on those cups. The impressionistic ability did not come off as I had imagined. However, I am happy with the final composition.
This painting was so much fun as it is so bright and cheery. I am sure this would brighten up any dark area in your home. This is third in my apples series I am working on.
These apples were obtained locally down the street where I live. Apple season in Hendersonville is just starting as the early season apples are showing up in our farmers markets. Tis this wonderful season!
