Learn more about this Original Painting @ https://timellmers.com/2017/07/27/day-4-apples-in-oil/ ABOUT: ‘Just a Couple of Apples” represents late summer/early fall at its finest. Completed from life in my studio from apples obtain from my local farm stand down the street. This painting is just vivid of color secondary to the underpainting. I made sure to stay loose on this painting to capture all the vivid colors these apples add. This painting would work for any area you want to brighten up. This painting was completed entirely using the three primary colors of yellow, red, and blue. DIMENSIONS: 6 in. x 6 in. (standard size for easy/affordable framing) MATERIALS: Painted in professional oil paints on a cotton canvas, stretched on a wooden stretcher frame, canvas has been gessoed with three coats to maintain cotton integrity, paint was mixed with my own personal concentration of oil mediums to give paint strength and adds to protection for years to come (give a nice soft varnish look when dry). Painting comes unframed, but size is standard so will be affordable. (C) Burge Mountain Artworks, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

In continuing with my personal challenge to paint daily, I again chose something easy to get used to all of this color mixing again. Here are a couple of apples with using only the three primary colors (Yellow, Red, and Blue – some titanium white). These apples were purchased from my local farm stand down the street from my studio. Hendersonville, NC is known for their apples and we sure do have tons of orchards to choose from.

This is the second in a series of apples I am working on. The complexity of the colors work well together. This work was done impressionistically with soft brush strokes.

Cheers, please be sure to follow my page while you were here. Thank you for reading.
