Landscape Pastel Study

Day 2, Crepe Myrtle Pastel study (blah)

Focused on one area today for both paintings. I used an ultragrade pastel paper that allows me to pack up to 5 layers of color. Blending is super easy with this paper (maybe a little too easy). I think I may re-create these using a fine tooth sanded paper so that I can pack an analogous underpainting color to make the main items pop.

My name is Tim Ellmers and I love to paint in a wide variety of mediums. All the artwork you will see on my site is done by me. I post items I am currently working on regularly when the time allows. Please join me on my personal journey for artistic growth. Free free to send me an email inquiring about my work or to ask questions. Cheers, and thank you for visiting!
